Below is a diagram of where Earth is expected to
have a not so close encounter with an asteroid. 2014 DX110 is an asteroid about
90 meters across and is named because it is the 110th asteroid to be discovered
in 2014. This asteroid has been tracked and is planned to cross through Earth's
orbit. The asteroid will be coming within 230,000 miles which is about 9/10th's
the distance the moon is from Earth. The asteroid will be that close for about
7 hours and then shoot back off into space. 2014 DX110 has a 1 and 10 million
chance of hitting the Earth which, in Layman's terms, is not even fit to worry
about. Log onto Slooh.com at 3:30pm EST to chat and talk about
the event as it is happening.
