Have you heard of the planetary alignment that is supposed to happen January 4th 2015? Although this sounds extremely awesome, this is just a hoax! Pluto and Jupiter passing behind each other causing a decrease in gravity on the Earth and a moment of weightlessness. So at 9:47 A.M PST for those who do not read this will be disappointed when you try to jump in the air and float. So where did this hoax come from? Well according to multiple sites around the internet, many have stated that this originated from an April Fool’s joke in 1976. The 2014 hoax going around has been dubbed #zeroday. Zero Day is the works of a man by the name of Patrick Moore for an April Fool’s joke. So although the idea of Floating or weightlessness sound awesome, sadly, it won’t happen! Thinking logically, even if Pluto did pass behind Jupiter, the two planets added gravity would not even have an effect on us at all. Also, I would take into account that Pluto is even smaller than our own moon which is 238,900 miles (384,400 km) away from Earth. How could something smaller than the moon (Pluto) and at their closest point to each other, 2.66 billion miles (4.28 billion km) away, effect Earth’s gravity? I could ask many more questions but tomorrow at 9:47 A.M. PST, don’t go jumping off of buildings expecting to float or slowly descend to the ground!
